Definitely agree with a lot of this! However, I don't think we can say that these views are representative of the whole "spirituality" industry - there are many people, leaders, teachers etc who promote going into the uncomfortable emotions, living a nuanced and balanced life, or tackling injustice. Unfortunately, the problem seems to be that everyone wants to be a spiritual guru these days (who DOESN'T want to make lots of money doing something that seems easy, meaningful, AND boosts the ego?) and they employ very lazy, one-dimensional thinking, parrot things they've seen in quotes, and try to turn their Instagrams into carbon copies of other "gurus" (aka beautiful white women appropriating Indian culture) without doing any deep thinking or taking a hard look at the role privilege has played in their lives.
