Sadly, every room I have been in with white males ends up with them doing 90% of the talking. I genuinely don't think they realise that they have been conditioned to feel comfortable taking up space while others have been conditioned to listen and wait. In the same way, their documentaries/movies/TED talks are always promoted with this air of "wow, this guy figured all this out by himself, so smart" while ignoring the fact that he's standing on the shoulders of thousands of years of - for example - indigenous knowledge.
