That's the question! I've been trying to put my thoughts together in a course and workshop called "what now?", too.

If I were to summarise it into simple steps, I think we need to:

*Process our emotions of grief, rage, numbness, fear etc - ideally through group settings such as climate cafes, Work that Reconnects etc. Seek a climate-aware therapist or coach or Deep Adaptation guide if you can;

*Acknowledge and recognise our complicity in the climate crisis (this includes our role in ongoing colonialism and exploitation of the 'third world' for our own convenience) and learn about how it is tied in with social justice. It will be uncomfortable but we have turned away for too long and it's time for us to grow up as a society;

*Learn what we can about potential solutions, but be wise about 'greenwashing' from organisations - building community resilience will be of the utmost importance in the coming years, although we must not lose sight of a wider, global consciousness lest we descend back into tribalism;

*Tend to an earth-based spiritual practice. If we lose sight of our interconnection to all of life, then we continue to see the earth as a dead resource to exploit. We need a new (old) type of thinking if we are to learn to live in harmony with the earth

*Practice your own resilience. Go camping. Realise how little you can actually survive with. Think about what you might not be able to access if, for example, there are floods and fires and oil shortages. Prepare yourself for living with less now, and empower yourself by growing/making/building things yourself.
