Unforunately, Jan, Umair doesn't care. I've written long responses on some of his many other articles, where he more or less says exactly the same thing as this one. His narrative is that "(almost all) Brits are stupid because they foolishly bought into the lie of Brexit" - I don't even know if he's spent much time in Britain as he largely writes about the USA? - and doesn't seem interested in a more nuanced argument about it, or the fact that if we had a second referendum today there would be an entire group of 18-24 -year-olds who were too young to vote last time (not to mention all the older ones who are no longer with us since the referendum).... seeing as Brexit was "won" with such a narrow margin of 51% I would be very surprised if the public would still want it.
